Tara and Christian

I just got these amazing pictures back from Jessica Peterson, who shot Tara and Christian's wedding. I love her photography. Tara and Christian exude a sort of refined 70's look that I love. They are gorgeous, and so was their wedding. I think this peach and rusty red color palette is perfect for a fall wedding. And as always, a few succulent boutonnieres never hurt.

amaryllis

I put a large mix of greens in this arrangement and I loved the way they worked together, and that hyacinth smelled so good.

guest post at forget me knot weddings

I did a guest post over at forget me knot weddings blog a little while back. It is an inspiration board for a winter wedding that still wants to have the free-spirited feel that laid back summer weddings have. Summer weddings get all the attention sometimes, but I love winter weddings too. To me this board was perfect inspiration for a winter wedding that didn't feel too formal and uptight, or Christmassy. Rather it feels appropriately cozy for the snowy (in utah, at least) season while still being fun.

I love the idea of incorporating velvet into your or your bridesmaid's attire (or even a well tailored velvet suit for your groom?!) Wearing gold jewelry would be a perfect accent to glowing candles or christmas lights around your venue. Citrus is in season and looks great mixed with florals. Tones of yellowy gold and orange are perfect mixed with a sophisticated cream for flower arrangements at winter weddings. And last but not least, do you see the meringue mushrooms on that cake? I have made these myself and they are ever so time consuming, but I think they would be a perfect addition to a wintery wonderland wedding that doesn't have to say "Christmas".

Head over to forget me knot weddings to see the full post, and image credits.

petals in the sink

flower messes are much more fun than food messes in your kitchen.
