dinner party

I had a little dinner party with some friends before the night air gets too cold, and whipped up these arrangements for the table. I like them because they feel wild like summer, but also the colors hint at the cool autumn air.

desert wedding

This is Mccall's wedding that was inspired by Utah Native and desert flowers, thanks to Jessica for these beautiful photos. Mccall wanted her flowers to feel natural and be made with mostly grasses and greens. We wrapped her bouquet, the pew pieces, and some tall arrangements for the chapel in birch bark. To keep with the organic feel, the birch vases in front of the chapel were set on some pretty ivory flagstones.

This wedding was beautiful, I can't wait to get photos back from the photographer. As these arrangements started coming together I started drooling over the color scheme. You may have seen the movie Marie Anoinette? They reminded me of the colors in the film - muted but colorful, and sort of playfully monochromatic.

Garden roses, peonies, hydrangea paniculata, fever few, geranium greens, veronica, stock, ranunculus, jasmine vine, dahlia, scabiosa, and dusty miller-probably my 12 most ordered flowers. Can you blame me? The peach and pink tones with silvery greens are so pretty for a wedding.

Here are some photos from the summer wedding shoot with Kate Osborne. I want to eat dinner and have tea at this table, don't you? Most of the greens and silvers in this arrangement are succulent plants, I love the hints of purple that they have on the edges.

farewell

peonies (and soon poppies) have left us until later this year or next, and i miss them already. these ones were from my garden.

stray bunch

this was just for fun. we went on a walk and i picked stray flowers and weeds from around the block. this is why i love summer...
